WHAT IS A FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT (FCA)
A FCA is a holistic evaluation designed to understand your child’s unique abilities and needs. Our FCA analyses your child’s performance in all areas of daily living including communication, self-care, social interaction, learning, play, mobility, fine motor, emotional regulation, sensory processing, executive functioning and self management.

how it works
Contact us
Fill out the ‘contact us’ form. We will reach out to schedule an intake phone call, where we’ll review our service agreement.
InItital meeting
Personalised discussion between you and a therapist to gather holistic information regarding your child’s needs. Therapist will then assign standardised assessments suitable for your child.
FUNCTIONAL OBSERVATION
The therapist will organise a functional observation to assess the child’s needs through a range of activities via telehealth.
FCA Report
A detailed report of the assessment findings, functional observations and recommendations will be completed and emailed to you and your coordinator (if necessary).
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
The length of a functional capacity assessment can vary depending on several factors, such as the complexity of the evaluation, the specific areas being assessed, and the individual’s needs and goals. In general, an FCA takes 10-15 hours altogether.
